Our Process

We Believe in Selecting the Right Franchisee, for the Right Location at the Right Time

logo_shadowThis is a great time to join the Kids ‘R’ Kids family. Our franchisees are our top priority and we have developed a step-by-step process that guides you through the Kids ‘R’ Kids franchising opportunity.  From initial interest to Discovery Day, this process will ensure you have the information you need to evaluate the opportunity and we have what we need to confirm you are the right fit for Kids ‘R’ Kids.  Below is our comprehensive process and how you can get started today:

Complete & Submit the Request For Consideration Form

Completing the Request For Consideration (RFC) Form lets Kids ‘R’ Kids learn about your unique qualifications as a prospective franchisee. The RFC includes sharing information about your education, work history, financial resources, areas of interest for your business and more. We will review your RFC and determine if you meet our minimum franchise award standards.

Speak with a Kids ‘R’ Kids Representative

Once we receive your completed RFC a Kids ‘R’ Kids franchise development representative will contact you to review your information. We may have questions and/or ask for clarification and additional information. We want to get to know you and want to ensure that we facilitate your independent research into a Kids ‘R’ Kids franchise. We also want to answer any questions you may have at this time.

Receive a Kids ‘R’ Kids Introductory Franchise Packet

An Introductory Franchise Packet will be mailed to you. Although you are able to learn a great deal from our websites, we still feel it is important to place a hard copy packet in your hands as a resource of information. The packet will include a full Franchise Application for your completion and submittal to our franchise selection committee.

Receive a Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD)

Once your completed Franchise Application is received and reviewed by Kids ‘R’ Kids, you will be sent a link to our electronic Franchise Disclosure Document. A hard copy of the FDD can also be mailed to you. You will need to acknowledge the date you receive the FDD on the Acknowledgement of Receipt page, Item 23, that is included with the FDD by signing and dating the Receipt page. You should thoroughly review the FDD. The disclosure document summarizes certain provisions of your franchise agreement and other information in plain English. Buying a franchise is a complex investment. The information in this disclosure document can help you make up your mind.

Receive Financing Pre-Qualification

Kids ‘R’ Kids has  favorable relationships with local, regional, and national lenders. Being on the Small Business Registry (SBA) and being among the lowest failure and charge-off franchises in America, we have earned preferred franchisor status with national lenders, which could result in better rates and terms for our prospective franchisees. We will introduce you to lenders who know us and our business and are interested in pre-qualifying you for a loan. This way you will know where you stand with being able to secure financing early in the process.

Attend Kids ‘R’ Kids Support Team Discovery Day at the KRK Franchise Support Center

The Discovery Day at the Franchise Support Center is one of the most important days in the franchise development process. The Franchise Support Center visit includes one-on-one meetings with the senior executives and your franchise support and training team. The day also includes a comprehensive tour of a Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy. During the Discovery Day, you will hear about the numerous resources and programs within Kids ‘R’ Kids that are available to you. Be ready for a full day!

Speak with Current Kids ‘R’ Kids Franchisees

Speaking directly with current franchisees gives you an unmatched perspective as to the day to day operations, the financial results, and the relationships between the franchisee and the franchisor. We strongly recommend that your research includes speaking with our franchisees and having your questions answered.

Execute the Pre-Development Agreement

Once you have attended the Discovery Day and completed your due diligence, the next step in the franchise development process is the Pre-Development Agreement (PDA). The execution of the PDA is the starting point for the site selection process.

Site Selection Process

The Site Selection process involves you working with qualified real estate brokers to identify suitable sites that meet the minimum location approval criteria set by Kids ‘R’ Kids. You will meet with your real estate broker soon after the PDA is executed to receive training on the site selection process and the criteria used to search for suitable sites. As you narrow down the preferred sites, the Kids ‘R’ Kids Real Estate team will conduct extensive research on the area and market to ensure that the site you selected will give you all the positive elements to build your business.

Franchise Agreement Creation

Once the site is selected and approved, the Franchise Agreement (FA) and the accompanying documents are created and sent to you. Once you have carefully read the FA, you will execute and return it to the Franchise Support Center along with the franchise fee. Kids ‘R’ Kids will sign the returned agreement, send you a copy for your files and then it’s official. We will welcome you as the newest member of the Kids ‘R’ Kids family.

Phase I  Training | Start-Up Training

The Start-up Training class is a three day class held at the Franchise Support Center in Duluth, Georgia. The class provides training on creating your company entity, insurance, selecting professionals, financing, staffing, marketing and the design and construction process.

Design and Construction Process

As a franchisee, you will begin to work with our operations team to review the steps leading to and following construction. You will have the opportunity to meet with our Design and Construction Manager who guides you all the way through the opening. We will coordinate time with you and the architects, contractors, suppliers, and a host of others to get your Academy up and operating ensuring that quality standards are met.
