OUR APPLICATION PROCESS
Now is the ideal time to join the Kids ‘R’ Kids family! Because our franchisees are on the frontline in our mission to educate and empower tomorrow’s leaders, we’re eager for you to get started – serving a new generation of Kids ‘R’ Kids students in a new location. To that end, we have developed a step-by-step process that guides you through the Kids ‘R’ Kids franchising opportunity. From initial interest to Discovery Day, this process will ensure you have the information YOU need to evaluate the opportunity. It will also help us determine whether or not you are the ideal fit for Kids ‘R’ Kids’ unique culture and concept.
COMPLETE AND SuBmit the Request for Consideration Form
Completing the Request for Consideration (RFC) Form is designed to reveal your unique qualifications as a prospective franchisee including education, work history, financial resources, areas of interest for your business and more. We will review your RFC and determine if you meet our minimum franchise award standards.
Speak with a Kids ‘R’ Kids Representative
Once we receive your completed RFC, a Kids ‘R’ Kids Franchise Development Representative will contact you to review your information. In a desire to get to know you better, we may have questions, requests for clarification and/or require additional information. We wish to ensure that we facilitate your independent research into a Kids ‘R’ Kids franchise and answer any questions you have at this time.
Receive an Introductory Franchise Packet
An Introductory Franchise Packet consisting of the following items will be emailed to you: Franchise Application, Confidentiality Agreement, Personal Financial Statement, and Background Check Information Form.
Review the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD)
Once your completed Franchise Application is received, reviewed and pre-approved by Kids ‘R’ Kids, you will be sent a link to our electronic Franchise Disclosure Document. A hard copy of the FDD can also be mailed to you. You will need to acknowledge the date you receive the FDD on the Acknowledgement of Receipt page, Item 23, that is included with the FDD by signing and dating the Receipt page. You should thoroughly review the FDD. The disclosure document clearly summarizes certain provisions of your franchise agreement and other information. Buying a franchise is a complex investment. The information in this disclosure document can help you determine whether or not this is a wise investment for you.
Receive Financing Pre-Qualification
Kids ‘R’ Kids has fostered favorable relationships with local, regional, and national lenders. Our standings on the Small Business Registry (SBA) and as one of the lowest failure and charge-off franchises in America have earned us preferred franchisor status with national lenders. That status often results in better rates and terms for our prospective franchisees. We will introduce you to lenders who are familiar with our company and are interested in pre-qualifying you for a loan. This pre-qualification will let you know where you stand with regard to securing financing early in the process.
Attend Kids ‘R’ Kids Support Team Discovery Day
The Discovery Day at the Franchise Support Center is one of the most important days in the franchise development process. The Franchise Support Center visit includes one-on-one meetings with the senior executives, as well as your franchise support and training teams. You will hear about the wide variety of resources and programs within Kids ‘R’ Kids that are available to you. Be ready for a full day!
Franchise Agreement Creation
The Franchise Agreement (FA) and accompanying documents are created and sent to you. Once you have carefully read the FA, you will execute and return it to the Franchise Support Center along with the franchise fee. Kids ‘R’ Kids will sign the returned agreement, send you a copy for your files and then it’s official. We will welcome you as the newest member of the Kids ‘R’ Kids family.

OUR PRE-OPENING PROCESS
The finish line is within sight! With our application process in the rear-view mirror, it’s time to take those exciting final steps towards the realization of your very own Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy. From site selection and construction to training and marketing implementation, we’ll be with you every step along the way.
Site Selection Process
The Site Selection process partners you with qualified real estate brokers to identify suitable sites that meet the minimum location approval criteria set by Kids ‘R’ Kids. You will receive training on the site selection process and criteria used to search for suitable sites. As you narrow down the preferred sites, the Kids ‘R’ Kids Real Estate team will conduct extensive research on the area and market to ensure that the site you selected is poised to positively impact the establishment and growth of your business.
Financing Approval
Once your site selection has been approved by the Kids ‘R’ Kids Real Estate team, that information will be sent to lender for financing approval. There are a number of financing options available to you, including SBA and conventional loans. Once approved, design and construction of your facility can begin!
Design and Construction Process
During this process, you will begin to work with our operations team to review the steps leading to and following construction. You will have the opportunity to meet with our Design and Construction Manager, who will guide you all the way through to the opening of your Academy. We follow a Design-Bid-Build Development process and will send recommendations for the following: Architect, Local Engineer to team up with KRK Engineer, General Contractor & Sub-Contractor, and the Bid Process. KRK Development Department reviews bids and advises, if necessary. We will coordinate times with you and the architects, contractors, suppliers, and a host of others to get your new Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy up and operating while ensuring that quality standards are met.
Attend Phase I – Operations Training
You will attend a one-week training class at the KRK Franchise Support Center 6-8 weeks prior to the completion of your Academy’s construction. This invaluable session consists of training in Education, Quality Assurance, State Rules and Regulations, Financial Analysis, Marketing, the Enrollment Process, Operating System, Technology, Staff, Suppliers and more.
Attend Phase II – Key Personnel Training
This intensive hands-on training program should be completed after the Learning Academy installation is complete – approximately one week prior to opening. Your training will consist of Customer Service, Enrollment Process, Sales and Marketing, Curriculum, Operating System, Technology, State Rules and Regulations, Daily Scheduling and much more.
Marketing Implementation
At this point, you’re already off to a great start. Website, Facebook, Online Search and other marketing programs will begin soon after the Franchise Agreement has been signed and the site has been selected to help build excitement around the future opening of your Academy. Prior to opening, the Marketing team will guide you in the launch of your initial local enrollment marketing program.
State Licensing Review
The initial State Licensing Review is scheduled immediately following the completed installation. KRK staff will be with you during this process and work closely with you to ensure readiness for the State Licensing Review.
Your Learning Academy Opens
Following the “Key Personnel” training and State Licensing, your Academy will be poised to open its doors for operation and you can begin caring for children. Congratulations! The first 30 days is an exciting time filled with enrollment marketing, tours and communication within your market. Additional staff training takes place during this time as the children are fully engaged with their classroom activities and teachers. Your first month of operation is an excellent time to work through any start-up operational issues, refine the school’s processes/procedures and enhance staffing.
Ongoing Training & Support
Kids ‘R’ Kids’ Regional Managers and Consultants will provide ongoing training and support for you and your staff throughout the course of the franchise term, as new programs are introduced and implemented on an as needed basis.
